Iris by Goo Goo Dolls

This song was written for a movie called "The City of Angeles." This movie is about angels that are specially for looking over the world. In this movie Nicolas Cage plays Seth. Seth is this one particular angel that is in love with this one human. The problem is that he can not talk with humans. That's what the song means when it says, "I'll give up for ever to touch you," he wants to be able to interact with this one character in the movie. No matter if this was written for a movie or just a normal song I still feel this song is correct. Life sometimes sort of does "seem like the movies." For now on when you hear that song you know that it has to do with angles looking over humans.

41 Shots by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band

41 Shots is a story that exemplifies racism in America.  In New York this African American boy was running down the streets of a crime seen. A Caucasian cop thought that he was running for a reason. It turns out that the cop shot him 41 times in the chest without any credible information. There was no gun found, no knife, no nothing. This is very racist against African Americans. Next time you hear this song think about this story.

How to Save a Life by the Fray

In order to understand this song you have to know the story behind it. Isaac Slade, the lead singer, was in a predicament with his friend. his friend was addicted to drugs. Isaac tried to talk him out of it. He did not handle the topic well, though. He ended up ruining his relationship with his close friend and his friend never stopped doing drugs. The song says, "where did I go wrong, I lost a friend, somewhere in the bitterness." He is saying that the talk was very bitter. He says, "and I would have stayed up with you all night, had I known how to save a life." That says that if he would have stayed up with him if he knew that was the right thing to do. He says he did not know "how to save a life." This song is for people who have friends that are addicted to drugs and do not know how to treat it. It is saying to stay with him and help him every step of the way. As it says in the song, "Step one you say we need to talk, he walks you say sit down its just a talk," this is saying that you need to talk with the victim. It is telling you step by step what to say in this situation. So if you know anyone that is addicted to drugs; Take Isaac's advice.

It's My Life by Bon Jovi

This song is about going out and taking risks. Saying that it is "now or never" means that this is the time or you will never do it. You need to go out and experience life. When he says, "Like Frankie says I did it my way," he is talking about Frank Sinatra. When he says, "for Tom and Gina who never backed down," he is talking about his parents. This song is a good song, and for all of you that has never heard it I encourage you to.

Radio Nowhere by Bruce Springsteen

This song is about the music now of days going to waste. It states in the song, "this is radio nowhere, is there anybody alive out there." This is saying the music on the radio is crap it is going nowhere.
He says, "I just want to hear some rhythm." That is saying that the music does not have any rhythm just a plain beat that goes out throughout the song. He wants to hear "thousand drums" and "a million different voices speaking in tone." He wants to hear instruments not just sound affects and a catchy beat. He wants to hear something that takes over a IQ of 50 to write.
I agree with Bruce. Music now of days is people repeating and repeating the same lines over and over again. I feel that of all of the recent music that Bruce has published; this is one of his best. Remember, I said recent, of course "Thunder Road," "Born to Run," "Jungleland," and etc. are better, but this song is pretty dang good.

Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen

This song is about being free an experiencing what life has to give us. When the song says "I want to know if love is wild, I want to know if love is real," it is saying that he wants to experience love and try new things. He also talks about the "runaway american dream," he is saying that everyone dreams of running away and be free from rules and parents.
When the song says, "Baby this town rips the bones from your back, its a death trap, its a suicide rap, we got to get out while were young 'cause tramps like us, baby we were born to run," is saying that the town is very brutal... dog eat dog. We need to get out fast or else we will go crazy.
This song is very inspirational to all that wants to get away from everything and just experience life. Go out there and do everything. Take risks, break a rule, and live wild
